Lancaster New City Did Not Fail Us

We’re not really well-off but my sister and I can make ends meet and earn a couple of extras when needed. Both of us have online-based work so we made a good decision when we decided to buy a home for us and our aging mom. Our dad passed away when we were young and who else to take care of his aging widow than us sisters? Don’t get the wrong idea. Our mom is and will never be a burden to us. J

Anyway, renting an apartment in the city was not really a good investment for us; the idea of slaving away just to pay rent and bills that weren’t leading to anywhere for our future was horrible. The city’s congested and polluted atmosphere was not also good for mom’s health. Purchasing a vacation house is very luxurious so purchasing a permanent house would be wiser. Of course, we struggled with the consideration of many factors like budget, location, and work.

First, budget. Buying a home is not a piece of cake. Renting a home is already a struggle; what more with buying a home, right? Plus, there are so many scammers and con artists out in the open that buying such a heavy investment should be done with extreme care. Just thinking about hard-earned money being stolen or unfairly squandered makes my blood boil.

Second, where would we live? The capital is out of the question since it would definitely be VERY expensive. Renting is already costly; what more with buying?? Also, the congested and dirty environment isn’t really appealing to us.

Finally, work. It is important since it would be our source of income! No work means no money, and no money means no home. Home-based work would be fine since we worked online-based jobs (copywriting, blogging, and online marketing). But connectivity is vital.
So with these questions and factors bugging us, where/who did we turn to? Profriends’ Lancaster Estates! Conveniently located in Cavite, our home is a haven since it is away from crowded Manila but not too far so that we can still enjoy visiting popular malls, restaurants, and so on. The budget we have made it very swak na swak for us. Also, PLDT DSL can reach us! We were worried that we’d have to suffer using Internet broadband sticks just to work home-based. Most clients also prefer online-based workers to have decent connectivity (Any home-based workers out there would definitely relate. Lol!).

So far, more homes are being built. (Yay! More neighbors!) It gets a bit lonely, too, you know. But being online rats, it’s not really very disheartening for us. But for my mom, I think she wants to meet some new people or neighbors. Unlike other moms, Candy Crush just won’t suffice. Hehe! I do hope more people would decide to live in Lancaster as well. The more, the merrier! J People with bad intentions/attitude aren’t welcome though. :p
Magic Twins (aired in Channel 2 back in the 90s). We’re not twins but this old cartoon is a fave and it inspires us to believe that, together, we can do anything we want.
